The Pierced Stool is an homage on queer body-ornaments. Symbolism, body ornaments, and camp converge in this object, creating a materialized statement of protest and enjoyment – or simply something to play nervously with. The design questions both functionalism and ornamentation while alluding to the charged tensions between desire and defiance.
